Italian company builds desktop PC for 99 euros

An Italian system builder has built a desktop PC with a price of 99 euro has been paste. The PC company Abaco is equipped with an Atom processor and running on Xubuntu Linux. To cover the cost of Abaco Primo as low as possible, the company has a minimum configuration built around a 1.6 GHz Intel Atom 230 CPU. DDR2 RAM is only 512MB in size, but with a different module to be extended up to 2GB. The video is powered by an Intel GMA 950 IGP, while the Realtek ALC662 sound concerned. The motherboard has a free PCI slot available, while the table a total of six USB 2.0 connections count. For storage Abaco provides a 4GB compact flash card from Kingston. A hard disk or DVD drive are not present, but can later be added to the system. The body of the Primo measuring 37x13, 5x35cm and the system weighs less than 5kg. For OS is the Italian system builder chose Xubuntu Linux with versieummer 8.04.1. For 99 euros, the buyer can assemble Abaco Primo himself, assembly costs 12.50 euros.
